Summary

Job Summary:

Medical Assistants are essential members of the clinic team. They contribute to patient healthcare by assisting with exams and procedures, managing patient flow, and performing other responsibilities based on departmental needs. Incumbents will rotate across different units within the Moffitt Ambulatory Center (MAC) to ensure quality patient care and appropriate staffing. They will work in various outpatient clinics or designated patient care areas as assigned.

Minimum Education:

• High School Diploma/GED
• Successful completion of a Medical Assistant training program, applicable Military Medical Training, or students actively enrolled in a BSN program who have completed nursing fundamentals and can provide proof of enrollment at the start of each semester.

Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification or Registration:

• American Association of Medical Assistants (CMA - Certified Medical Assistant)
• American Medical Technologists (RMA - Registered Medical Assistant)
• National Center for Competency Testing (NCMA - Certified Medical Assistant)
• National Healthcareer Association (CCMA - Certified Clinical Medical Assistant)
• National Association for Health Professionals (NRCMA - Registered Certified Medical Assistant)
• Current Moffitt Medical Assistants must obtain certification from one of the above organizations within one year of transfer from a grandfathered unit.
