Job summary

Ada County Sheriff’s Office, Health Services Division, seeks a Medical Assistant to support providers with clinical and clerical tasks in a correctional setting. The role operates Monday through Friday from 7:00am to 3:00pm and works within the Ada County Jail Health Services Unit, which serves patients with acute medical or mental health needs.

Qualifications

• Requires CMA or RMA certification (or equivalent experience).
• Knowledge of triage process.
• Ability to demonstrate competency with basic medical procedures.
• Ability to maintain confidential medical records.
• Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.

Responsibilities

• Provides care to patients under the direction of the provider and scope of practice.
• Performs medical and laboratory procedures as outlined by provider.
• Processes prescription medication and provides instructions.
• Assists in monitoring supplies and prescriptions.
• Schedules and documents appointments and tests; initiates reminders.
• Maintains documentation and records.
