Job summary

Ada County Sheriff’s Office Health Services Division is seeking a Medical Assistant to provide clinical, technical, and clerical support to providers within the jail health setting.

The role requires CMA/RMA certification or equivalent experience, along with the ability to perform medical procedures, manage tests and documentation, and maintain patient confidentiality in a correctional environment.

Qualifications

• Graduation from a school of technology with CMA or RMA certification or equivalent experience.
• Knowledge of triage process and basic medical procedures.
• Ability to maintain confidential medical records and information.
• Demonstrates tact, diplomacy and effective written and verbal communication.

Responsibilities

• Provides care to patients under provider direction in the stated scope of practice.
• Performs medical and laboratory procedures as directed by provider.
• Processes prescription refills and provides instructions per physician direction.
• Assists in monitoring supplies and equipment and orders replacements as needed.
• Schedules and documents appointments and tests using appropriate systems.
