Job summary

McLennan County Sheriff’s Office seeks a Certified Medical Assistant to perform clinical and clerical duties in a secure, high-demand setting. You will administer medications, manage storage, and assist with transcription and ordering to support daily operations.

You must complete a state-certified MA program with Texas MA certification and BLS, and be prepared for 12-hour shifts, overtime, and weekend work as required by the county schedule.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED.
• Graduated from an approved medical assistant training program and valid Texas Medical Assistant Certification.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Responsibilities

• Administer medications as assigned by supervisor and maintain related records.
• Administer prescribed medications to inmates and document in EMR under supervision.
• Administer medications via oral, topical, ocular, nasal, rectal, transdermal, sublingual, buccal, and IM/SC routes.
