Job summary

Yakima Valley Farm Workers Clinic is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant in Kennewick, WA. The role supports providers, prepares patients for visits, and maintains clinical records in Epic EMR.

The MA will assist with exams, labs, and patient education, while ensuring safety and compassionate care. Bilingual Spanish skills are a plus; health benefits and retirement plans are offered.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or GED required.
• Graduation from a 720-hour MA program (CAAHEP/ABHES) with at least 160 externship hours.
• WA State CMA certification or interim CMA certification required.
• CPR certification due within 90 days of hire.
• Spanish-speaking skills preferred at ALTA level 10.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and update patient medical records and history.
• Prepare for patient visits, review labs, referrals, and documentation.
• Collaborate with providers to manage schedules and patient flow.
• Prepare exam rooms and maintain supplies and sterilization.
• Explain procedures and provide basic patient education.
• Answer patient questions in person and via email, route scope questions appropriately.
• Assist physicians during examinations and minor procedures.
• Collect and process lab specimens; review results in EMR.
• Administer medications as directed by physicians.
• Comply with Joint Commission, HRSA, and YVFWC requirements.
