Job summary

Unify Community Health in Spokane, WA is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant to join our Northeast clinic team. You will support clinicians, prepare patients for visits, maintain records in Epic EMR, and assist during exams and procedures. A flexible, patient-focused professional with CPR and WA MA certification is essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Completion of CAAHEP/ABHES medical assistant program with at least 720 hours and 160 clinical externship.
• One year CMA experience preferred.
• CPR certification within 90 days of hire.
• WA State MA certification or interim certification required.
• Bilingual (English/Arabic or Dari or Spanish or Russian) preferred at high level.
• ALTA score of 10 qualifies for bilingual differential compensation.
• Strong medical knowledge and ability to follow clinical protocols.
• Proficient with EMR systems and basic software tools.

Responsibilities

• Maintain patient medical records and update histories and immunization data.
• Prepare for visits, review labs, referrals, and reports; communicate with providers.
• Coordinate with providers to maintain schedule efficiency and care continuity.
• Prepare exam rooms and ensure supplies and sterilization.
• Explain procedures to patients and provide education as appropriate.
• Respond to patient questions by phone or email; escalate as needed.
• Assist physicians during examinations and procedures.
• Anticipate providers' needs and manage requests.
• Collect and process lab specimens and document results in EMR.
