Job summary

CHAS Health in Spokane, WA seeks a Medical Assistant to support clinical teams across our community health clinics. You will greet patients, prepare exam rooms, perform phlebotomy and injections, and coordinate referrals while upholding safety and quality standards.

Qualified applicants have completed an accredited Medical Assistant training, certification within 120 days if required, and preferably experience in a community health setting.

Qualifications

• Completion of medical assistant training through an approved program.
• Certification as MA within 120 days of hire (AAMA/NHA/NCCT).
• WA locations require Medical Assistant – Certified credential.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and escort to exam rooms; inform about delays.
• Prepare patients for providers and support efficient flow.
• Perform phlebotomy and laboratory procedures as directed.
• Administer injections and immunizations.
• Keep exam rooms clean, stocked and ready.
• Sterilize instruments and assist with procedures.
• Assist providers with exams and patient education.
• Process prescription refills under provider direction.
• Coordinate referrals and required documentation.
• Follow safety protocols and PPE guidelines.
• Answer phones, schedule patients, and support care team.
• Perform other duties including CHAS Health mission support.
