Job summary

Vanguard Medical Group in Cranford, NJ is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant II to join our primary care team. This role supports providers and clinical operations, handling clinical and administrative duties with increasing independence.

Responsibilities include patient care, chart prep, pre-visit reviews, and coordination with the care team. The position requires at least 2 years in a medical setting and CMA certification preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program.
• Medical Assistant Certification (CMA/RMA/CCMA) strongly preferred.
• Minimum 2+ years of experience in a medical office or ambulatory setting.
• Proficient in EMR documentation and office operations.

Responsibilities

• Prepare exam rooms and assist providers during exams, procedures, and treatments.
• Take and record vital signs, medical history, medication reconciliation, and chief complaint.
• Administer medications and injections and document in the EMR.
• Perform in-office testing and assist with phlebotomy as needed.
• Assist with minor procedures including sterilization and wound care.
• Provide patient education and care plans.
• Independently manage routine chart preparation and provider support.
• Process referrals, refills, and prior authorizations.
