Job summary

UNC Health in Chapel Hill, NC, seeks a Medical Assistant II, Certified, to provide clinical and administrative support in outpatient plastic and reconstructive surgery settings. Responsibilities include patient rooming, data collection, medication administration under supervision, phlebotomy, EKGs, and coordinating tests and referrals.

32 hours/week, weekdays, with on-site work. Minimum one year of certified MA experience; MA certification and BLS required; salary $18.84–$26.77 per hour; parking

Qualifications

• Completion of a Medical Assisting program is strongly preferred but not required.
• Medical Assistant certification from AAMA, AMT, CCMA, NRCMA, or NCMA required.
• Basic Life Support certification required.
• At least one year of full-time experience as a Medical Assistant, Certified.
• Ability to document information into the electronic medical record.

Responsibilities

• Performs rooming and intake, collects vital signs and visit reason.
• Collects patient and family data including medical history.
• Assists provider during treatments and procedures.
• Performs phlebotomy and specimen collection.
• Prepares and administers medications under provider direction.
• Ensures exam rooms are stocked and ready for visits.
