UNC Health in Garner, NC seeks a Certified Medical Assistant II to provide routine clinical and administrative support in an outpatient clinic. You will work under the provider and clinic management to ensure smooth patient flow and quality care.

The role includes rooming patients, vitals collection, phlebotomy, medication administration, basic EKG/eye tests, and maintaining exam rooms. Requires MA certification and BLS; one year of experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Completion of a Medical Assisting program accredited by CAAHEP or ABHES is strongly preferred but not required.
• Certification as a Medical Assistant by AAMA, AMT, CCMA, NRCMA or NCMA is required.
• Basic Life Support certification from AHA or ARC is required.
• Minimum of one year of full-time experience as a Medical Assistant, Certified.
• Competencies per the Advancement Worksheet demonstrated during application and interview.

Responsabilités

• Rooming and intake with vitals and visit data collection.
• Collects patient medical and social history.
• Review current medications and allergies; coordinate with pharmacy.
• Assist provider during treatments and procedures.
• Collect specimens and perform phlebotomy.
• Administer medications as directed by provider.
• Perform tests such as EKG or eye exams under supervision.
• Review records for routine health screenings; ensure rooms have supplies.
• Provide after-visit instructions and educational materials.
• Prepare, stock, and clean exam rooms; sterilize instruments.
• Assist with registration, check-in/out, scheduling, and referrals.
• Answer clinic calls and support provider or nurse.
