Job summary

UNC Health in Rowland, NC seeks a Medical Assistant II, Certified to provide routine clinical and administrative support in our outpatient clinic.

Under clinical supervision, you will room patients, collect vital signs and histories, assist the provider, perform phlebotomy, administer medications, and help with tests and scheduling. A MA program is preferred; MA certification and BLS are required; minimum one year of experience; on-site, day schedule.

Qualifications

• One year of full-time Medical Assistant, Certified experience.
• Certification by AAMA/AMT/CCMA/NRCMA/NCMA required.
• BLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Room patients and collect vital signs, height, weight, and visit data.
• Collect patient history and medications; review allergies and pharmacy.
• Assist providers during treatments and procedures; perform phlebotomy.
• Administer medications under provider direction and perform routine tests (e.g., EKG).
• Prepare and stock exam rooms; assist with check-in/out and scheduling; answer calls.
