Position Title: Certified Medical Assistant I, II, or III

Department: HB Dermatology Clinic

Job Description:

This position may be filled as a Certified Medical Assistant I, II, or III, depending on experience, expertise, and qualifications.

Minimum Requirements:

Certified Medical Assistant I:

• Education: High School Diploma or GED required. Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant Program preferred.
• Experience: 0-3 years of experience in Patient Care as a Medical Assistant or similar role preferred.
• License/Certification: Basic Life Support (American Heart Association) certification required upon hire. Additionally, one of the following certifications is required:

• Medical Assistant - American Medical Technologists (AMT)
• Registered Medical Assistant - American Association of Medical Personnel
• Registered Medical Assistant - American Allied Health
• Certified Medical Assistant - American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA)
• Certified Clinical Medical Assistant - National Health Career Association
• National Certified Medical Assistant - National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT)
• Nationally Registered Certified Medical Assistant - National Association for Health Professionals

Certified Medical Assistant II:

• Education: High School Diploma or GED required. Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant Program preferred.
• Experience: 3-5 years in Patient Care preferred.
• License/Certification: Same as above, plus the certifications listed.

Certified Medical Assistant III:

• Education: High School Diploma or GED required. Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant Program preferred.
• Experience: 5+ years in Patient Care required.
• License/Certification: Same as above, plus the certifications listed.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Knowledge of medical terminology.
• Professional interaction with healthcare practitioners and patients.
• Effective communication skills.
• Ability to observe and gather information from relevant sources.
• Teamwork skills.
