Job summary

Orlando Health, Inc. is seeking a Medical Assistant for our Zephyrhills, FL location. This full-time role supports physicians and APPs in ambulatory care, with a schedule Monday through Friday 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.

You will gather patient data, assist with exams, and document care in the EMR. Candidates must have a high school diploma and Medical Assistant training or relevant work experience; BLS certification required or pursued.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Successful completion of Medical Assistant training from an approved technical school, or verifiable applicable work experience in patient care.

Responsibilities

• Gathers patient data through interviews and observation.
• Assists patients and families with preparation for examination.
• Assists the physician or APP during examination and procedures.
• Documents, treatments, procedures, and patient education according to policies.
• Enter medication, laboratory and imaging orders into the EMR under provider direction.
• Schedules specialty testing and physician consultations as needed.
• Maintains infection control standards and safety practices.
• Maintains regular attendance and compliance with policies.
