Job summary

University of Washington's UW Medicine Primary Care at OPMC in Seattle is seeking a Medical Assistant - Certified (MA-C) for a full-time 40-hour week on the day shift.

The successful candidate will room patients, take vital signs, assist with procedures, perform injections, prepare exam rooms and handle prior authorizations. WA MA-C certification and BLS CPR are required or must be obtained within 6 months of hire.

Qualifications

• Completion of a Medical Assistant course accredited by CAAHEP/ABHES or equivalent
• Must be WA State Medical Assistant-Certified or achieve within 6 months of hire
• Valid AHA BLS CPR card required
• Equivalent education and/or experience may substitute for minimum qualifications

Responsibilities

• Room patients, take vital signs, and reconcile records
• Perform injections
• Prepare and clean exam rooms
• Submit medication prior authorizations
• Recognize symptoms and report to provider
• Act as liaison between patient, family and providers
• Assist provider with procedures and exams
• Perform point of care testing and report abnormal results
• Transport patients as required
