Schedule: Full Time

Shift: Must have full availability Monday - Friday, 7am-7pm; schedule may vary weekly based on need

Location: Provides coverage for clinics between Orange & Seminole counties (Orlando, Winter Park, Altamonte, etc.)

The role you’ll contribute: The Medical Assistant, under general supervision, provides appropriate care to patients and follows AdventHealth service standards. Responsibilities include greeting patients, obtaining clinical, financial, and demographic information, assisting providers during treatment and examinations, assisting with procedures and medication administration as ordered, verifying insurance, collecting copays, and scheduling appointments.

• Assist with screenings per physician orders and accurately enter all information
• Perform clinical intakes
• Aid in minor procedures as necessary per specialty
• Ensure practice flow by preparing patient and equipment for treatment
• Follow safety processes and policies to ensure proper care

Qualifications

The expertise and experiences you’ll need to succeed:

• 1 year of practical medical assisting experience and certification from one of the listed organizations, OR
• Graduate of a medical assistant program in lieu of experience

Must be currently certified and maintain certification by one of the following:

• American Association of Medical Assistants (“AAMA”) - Certified Medical Assistant (CMA)
• American Medical Certification Association (“AMCA”) - Clinical Medical Assistant Certification (CMAC)
• American Medical Technologists (“AMT”) - Registered Medical Assistant (RMA)
• National Association for Health Professionals (“NAHP”) - Nationally Registered Certified Medical Assistant (NRCMA)
• National Center for Competency Testing (“NCCT”) - National Certified Medical Assistant (NCMA)
• National Healthcareer Association (“NHA”) - Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA)
• American Registry of Medical Assistants (“ARMA”) - Registered Medical Assistant (RMA)

Current, valid BLS certification is required.
