The role you’ll contribute:

The Medical Assistant, under general supervision, provides appropriate care to patients and follows AdventHealth service standards. Responsibilities include greeting patients, obtaining clinical, financial, and demographic information, assisting providers during treatment and examinations, and assisting with procedures and medication administration as ordered. Office duties include verifying insurance, collecting copays, and scheduling appointments.

• Assist with screenings per physician orders and enter all information accurately
• Perform clinical intakes
• Aid in minor procedures as necessary per specialty
• Ensure practice flow by preparing patients and equipment for treatment
• Follow safety processes and policies to ensure proper care

Qualifications:

The expertise and experiences you’ll need to succeed:

• 1 year of practical medical assisting experience and certification from one of the following, OR
• Graduate of a medical assistant program in lieu of experience

Must be currently certified and maintain certification by one of the following:

• American Association of Medical Assistants (“AAMA”) – CMA
• American Medical Certification Association (“AMCA”) – CMAC
• American Medical Technologists (“AMT”) – RMA
• National Association for Health Professionals (“NAHP”) – NRCMA
• National Center for Competency Testing (“NCCT”) – NCMA
• National Healthcareer Association (“NHA”) – CCMA
