Job summary

Community Health Network, Inc. is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant Float to support the Carmel region across multiple offices. The role covers 7:00am–5:00pm hours, with float premiums and varied clinic needs.

The MA will assist providers during visits, conduct basic testing, manage vital signs, and coordinate referrals within EPIC EMR. The ideal candidate holds MA certification, a diploma or equivalent experience, and demonstrates teamwork, clear communication, and problem-solving.

Qualifications

• Diploma from a Medical Assistant program or a high school diploma with 1 year of Medical Assistant experience in physician practice.
• Medical Assistant certification required with 1 year of experience in physician practice
• Prepare exam rooms and treatment areas for patient use including required cleaning and stocking of supplies
• Room patients and manage an efficient flow of provider’s caseload
• Obtain necessary vital signs, EKGs, and/or specimen collection
• Documentation of care using the EPIC EMR system
• Perform Point of Care Testing based on patient’s chief complaint and available protocols
• Process referrals and medication refills
• Maintain positive relationships with patients, providers, and staff

Responsibilities

• Float among offices of an assigned specialty or geographical area to provide coverage of traditional Medical Assisting duties.
• Assist the provider of an ambulatory health care site with facilitation of patient visit and procedures, routine laboratory tests, referrals, and quality outcomes for the population of the practice.
• Contribute to Network quality initiatives and improve best practices.

*Base rate calculated by experience plus $2.00/hr float premium*
