Responsibilities

  • Educate patients on treatment plans and post-visit care.
  • Float and travel between Glendale and Surprise clinics as needed.

Description

The Certified Medical Assistant Float provides essential clinical and administrative support to healthcare providers, ensuring high-quality patient care and efficient clinic operations between Glendale and Surprise. This role performs both back-office clinical duties and front-office responsibilities while maintaining a positive patient experience and supporting overall workflow efficiency. Key responsibilities include:

  • Maintain accurate patient records and update Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Support front-office operations including patient scheduling, registration, insurance verification, referral coordination, and check-in/check-out procedures as needed.
  • Assist healthcare providers during patient examinations, treatments, and minor in-office procedures.
  • Prepare, clean, and sanitize examination rooms and medical equipment in compliance with infection control and safety standards.
  • Collect, document, and communicate patient medical history, vital signs, and other relevant clinical information accurately.
  • Provide exceptional customer service to patients, families, and visitors while promoting a welcoming and professional environment.
  • Educate patients on treatment plans, medications, follow-up care, and post-visit instructions as directed by providers.
  • Maintain and restock clinical and office supplies while ensuring exam rooms are fully prepared for patient care.
  • Float and travel between clinic locations as assigned to support staffing and operational needs.
  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations, company policies, and clinical protocols.
  • Collaborate effectively with providers, front office staff, and clinical teams to support efficient patient flow and clinic operations.
  • Perform administrative and clinical duties in a fast-paced environment while maintaining professionalism and attention to detail.
  • All other duties as assigned.
Requirements

Medical Assistant Certification required

  • A minimum of 3 year experience as a medical assistant
  • Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required
  • Podiatry or Pain medical assistant experience highly preferred
  • Strong computer proficiency (Microsoft Office, EHR systems)
  • Athena Experience highly preferred
  • Reliable transportation and willingness to travel to various clinic locations
  • Adaptability and ability to work in different team environments
  • Excellent communication and multitasking abilities
  • Prolonged sitting, standing, bending, and occasional lifting (up to 25 lbs)
  • Reliable transportation is required for all positions, as occasional travel to other clinic locations may be necessary.
