MUSC Community Physicians (MCP) seeks a Certified Medical Assistant to support patient-centered care across the rural health network in South Carolina. The role involves assisting physicians, performing vital signs, documenting in medical records, and preparing exam rooms, while upholding high standards of accuracy and communication.

The position requires completing an accredited medical assisting program, relevant certification, and BLS.

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited medical assisting program with one year of patient care experience preferred.
• Must be certified through AMT, AAMA, NHA, MedCA as CCMA/CMA or NAHP; BLS required.

Responsibilities

• Assist in examination and treatment under physician direction.
• Interview patients and document personal data and chief complaint.
• Record vital signs and input information into the medical record.
• Prepare treatment rooms and assist healthcare staff during procedures.
• Document all patient care in the medical record per policy.
