Medical University of South Carolina is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant for the MUSC Community Physicians network. The role supports a patient-centered care model, interviewing patients, taking vital signs, and entering data into the medical record under the direction of a physician.

Requirements include a high school diploma or equivalent, completion of an accredited CMA program, and BLS certification; a CCMA/CMA/NAHP credential is preferred. Schedule is 40 hours weekly with hourly pay.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; completion of an accredited medical assisting program.
• One year of patient care experience preferred.
• Certification as CCMA/CMA/NAHP or equivalent; current BLS required.

Responsibilities

• Interviews patients, measures vital signs, and records data in the medical record; prepares exam rooms.
• Assists in examination and treatment under physician direction; uses basic computer skills and maintains competencies.
