Qualifications

• CMA credential required or eligible (AAMA)
• RMA credential (AMT) accepted
• NRCMA/Licensed NRCMA recognition is preferred
• CCMA credential (NHA) preferred
• BLS certification within 30 days of hire
• RMA (ARMA) and RMA (AAH) credentials accepted
• NCCT CMA credential accepted
• HS Diploma or GED required

Responsibilities

• Room patients and collect pertinent information from patients and history
• Coordinate telephone communications with patients, families, pharmacies, and facilities
• Perform administrative duties: check-in/check-out, scheduling, prior authorizations, benefits verification, referrals, and testing coordination
• Perform clinical procedures including injections, urine tests, wound care, cast removal, TB tests
• Administer medications as ordered and document all actions in EMR
• Provide patient education materials and follow-up instructions
• Process and manage medication reconciliations and prescriptions
• Assist providers with in-office procedures and durable medical equipment forms

Education

H.S. Diploma/GED

Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) - AAMA

Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) - AMT

Nationally Registered Certified Medical Assistant (NRCMA) - NAHP

Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) - NHA

Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days - AHA

RMA (ARMA) - ARMA

RMA (AAH) - AA Health

Certified Medical Assistant (NCCT) - NCCT
