Job summary

Great Lakes Bay Health Centers in Saginaw, MI is seeking a qualified Medical Assistant to support front-office and clinical workflow in our community health setting. The role includes telephone screening, appointment scheduling, and coordination of referrals, while ensuring accurate documentation in the EHR.

You will assist with patient outreach, portal enrollment, and education, maintain equipment and records, and collaborate with providers to deliver compassionate care in a busy clinic

Qualifications

• Completion of Medical Assisting program with evidence of training in clinic procedures and duties.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• Certification as Medical Assistant required.

Responsibilities

• Answers telephones promptly, schedules patient appointments and assists call center as needed.
• Completes outreach activities as assigned.
• Promotes and assists patients to use the patient portal.
• Schedules patients for In-House procedures and assists with referrals.
• Updates EHR and maintains accurate clinical data with incoming medical reports.
• Coordinates new patient appointments and prepares electronic health records.
• Informs patients of lab and diagnostic results and provides limited patient education.
• Maintains desktops and assists as delegated by Center Manager.
