Qualifikationen

• Completion of Medical Assistant program, with evidence of training in clinic procedures and duties.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• Experience: None.
• Skills: Telephone and computer skills.
• Interpersonal Skills: Ability to communicate effectively with a diverse patient population.
• Physical Effort: Sit, stand, and walk for extended periods; lift up to 25 pounds.

Aufgaben

• Rooms patients in a respectful, patient-centered manner.
• Obtains and documents vital signs, height, weight and required intake information in the EHR.
• Performs CLIA-waived testing (hemoglobin, blood glucose, urinalysis, step, mono) per protocol.
• Prepares and administers medications, including immunizations, as ordered and within scope.
• Documents all patient care accurately and timely in the EHR.
• Communicates provider-directed lab and diagnostic test results per policy.
• Reinforces provider education and utilizes teach-back methods when appropriate.
• Follows infection control standards and equipment safety protocols.
• Maintains patient privacy and dignity throughout the encounter.
• Works as liaison between patients and interdisciplinary care team.
