Job summary

Novant Health Pine Lake Family is seeking a Full-Time Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) to join our patient-centered team. This dual role combines front desk duties two days a week with clinical responsibilities three days, supporting providers to deliver safe, high-quality care.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma, healthcare experience, and CMA/CCMA/RMA certification or enrollment in a recognized program with certification within six months. Schedule: Mon-Fri 7:30am-4:30pm.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Previous experience in a medical office or healthcare setting preferred.
• Current CMA/CCMA/RMA or other approved certification required within 6 months of employment.

Responsibilities

• Support providers in delivering efficient, high-quality patient care.
• Assist with patient intake, vital signs, documentation, and clinical procedures.
• Assist with scheduling patients and checking-in/out; answer phones.
• Maintain accurate medical records and ensure regulatory compliance.

What We're Looking For

Education

Experience

• Previous experience working in a medical office or healthcare setting preferred.

Certification/Licensure

• Current certification or registration as a Medical Assistant is required through one of the following approved organizations:
  • Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) - American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA)
  • Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) - National Healthcareer Association (NHA)
  • Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) - American Medical Technologists (AMT)
  • Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) - American Registry of Medical Assistants (ARMA)
  • National Health Career Association (NHCWA)
  • National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT)
  • National Association for Health Professionals (NAHP)
  • American Allied Health (AAH)

Candidates who are not currently certified at the time of hire must obtain certification or registration within six (6) months of employment and will be required to sign an education agreement.

• Current State Driver's License required for Palliative Care positions only.
