Job summary

Novant Health in the United States is seeking a Medical Assistant to support clinical teams. The role focuses on coordinating patient care, assisting during exams and procedures, and preparing examination rooms and patient forms.

You will take vital signs, collect histories, and help ensure safe, high-quality, cost-effective care while engaging with the team and community. Candidates should have a high school diploma or GED and relevant certifications, with the ability to obtain CMA/CCMA/RMA

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required and CMA/CCMA/RMA certification from approved registries.
• Current certification or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire (CMA/RMA/CCMA).
• Current State Driver’s License (Palliative Care Only).

Responsibilities

• Assist providers during exams and procedures.

• Assist with patient forms such as FMLA or other needed forms.
• Prepare patients and exam rooms for treatment.

What We’re Looking For

• Education:
  • High School Diploma or GED, required.
  • Candidates will provide proof of current certification from one of the approved certifying registries including:
    • CMA with the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA)
    • CCMA with the National Health Career Association (NHA)
    • RMA with the American Medical Technologists (AMT)
    • American Registry of Medical Assistants (NHCWA)
    • National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT)
    • National Association for Health Professionals (NAHP)
    • American Allied Health (AAH) RMA with the American Registry of Medical Assistants (ARMA)
• Experience:
  • Previous work in a medical office, preferred.
• Licensure/Certification:
  • Current certification, or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire as CMA, RMA or CCMA, required.
  • Current State Drivers License (Palliative Care Only), required.
• Additional Skills (required):
  • Ability to successfully complete generic and department specific skills validation and competency testing.
