Job summary

Novant Health in Clemmons, NC is seeking a Medical Assistant to support providers and deliver patient-centered care. You will take vitals, assist during exams, and help with forms such as FMLA, ensuring accurate histories and smooth workflows in a fast-paced clinic.

You will rotate between schedules A and B, work 12-hour shifts with a 30-minute lunch, and be supported by tuition assistance, health coverage from day one, and career growth opportunities at Novant Health.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED, required.
  • Must obtain CMA/CCMA/RMA certification within 6 months if not currently certified.
  • Current certification or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire as CMA, RMA or CCMA, required.
  • Current State Driver's License (Palliative Care Only), required.
  • Experience in a medical office preferred.
  • Ability to successfully complete generic and department specific skills validation and competency testing.

Responsibilities

What You'll Do

  • Candidate will work a Rotating A/B Schedule: Schedule A: Mon, Tues, Fri Schedule B: Wed, Thurs, Sat
  • 12 hour shifts approximately 6:45a-7p with 30 min lunch
What We're Looking For
  • Education: High School Diploma or GED, required.
  • Candidates will provide proof of current certification from one of the approved certifying registries including:
    • CMA with the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA)
    • CCMA with the National Health Career Association (NHA)
    • RMA with the American Medical Technologists (AMT)
    • American Registry of Medical Assistants (NHCWA)
    • National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT)
    • National Association for Health Professionals (NAHP)
    • American Allied Health (AAH) RMA with the American Registry of Medical Assistants (ARMA)
  • If a candidate is not currently certified, they must obtain certification or registration by the end of the sixth month of their hire and sign an education agreement.
  • Experience: Previous work in a medical office, preferred.
  • Licensure/Certification: Current certification, or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire as CMA, RMA or CCMA, required. Current State Drivers License (Palliative Care Only), required.
  • Additional skills required: Ability to successfully complete generic and department specific skills validation and competency testing.
