Job summary

Duke Health is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant for the Endocrine Engagement Center in Durham, NC. The role supports clinicians in patient exams and clinic operations, with a remote-practice component after orientation.

Hours are 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, Monday through Friday, with a hybrid model after orientation. The position offers a $7,500 commitment bonus and $2,000 relocation assistance for qualifying candidates, and requires a CAAHEP/ABHES-accredited MA program and applicable

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant program.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Certification by AAMA, AMT, NHA-CCMA, NCMA or ARMA.
• BLS certification required.
• Level I – no experience required; Level II – 1 year of clinical MA experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform telephone message taking and document encounters, follow protocols and escalation plans.
• Manage telephone calls and in-basket messages within scope.
• Forms management.
• Participate in performance improvement projects.
• Obtain prior authorizations for medications and durable medical equipment as indicated.
