Job summary

The Certified Medical Assistant in the Endocrine Engagement Center at Duke Health in Durham, NC supports clinicians with front-office and patient care tasks, ensuring clinic operations run smoothly in a hybrid on-site/remote setup. The role requires CMA certification and a suitable education background, with licensing or certification including BLS.

Hours are 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, Monday through Friday, with potential for hybrid work after orientation.

Qualifications

• CAAHEP or ABHES accreditation strongly preferred.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Certification by AAMA, AMT, NHA-CCMA, NCMA or ARMA required; include cert number and expiration on resume.
• BLS required.
• Level I requires no experience; Level II requires 1 year of clinical MA experience.

Responsibilities

• Take telephone messages and document encounters per clinic protocols.
• Manage telephone calls and in-basket messages.
• Forms management.
• Participate in performance improvement projects.
• Obtain prior authorizations for medications and durable medical equipment.
