Qualifications

• Graduation from accredited Medical Assistant program strongly preferred. High school or GED graduation required.
• Level II and Level III require graduation from a medical assistant program accredited by CAAHEP/ABHES; high school or GED graduation required.
• BLS certification required or preferred depending on level.

Responsibilities

• Administrative duties include answering telephones, greeting patients, updating medical records, insurance forms, scheduling appointments, and handling billing and correspondence.
• Clinical duties include taking medical histories, recording vital signs, preparing patients for examinations, assisting during examinations, drawing blood, collecting specimens, and administering medications as directed.
• Maintain sterile technique and assist with procedures as needed.
