Job summary

Duke University Hospital in Durham, NC seeks a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) for the Endocrine Clinic. The on-site role supports patient care, administrative duties, and clinical tasks within an interdisciplinary team. Flexible 40-hour week with days that may vary to cover clinic hours.

The CMA will assist physicians, perform routine patient care, manage records, and ensure smooth clinic operations in a high-demand endocrine setting. Related MA certifications and current BLS are expected.

Qualifications

• Level I: Graduation from accredited Medical Assistant program strongly preferred. High school or GED graduation required.
• Level II: Graduation from a medical assistant program accredited by CAAHEP or ABHES strongly preferred. High school or GED graduation required.
• Level III: Graduation from a medical assistant program accredited by CAAHEP or ABHES strongly preferred. High school or GED graduation required.

Responsibilities

• Answer telephones and manage scheduling
• Update and file patient records; insurance forms
• Assist physicians during examinations and procedures
• Prepare patients for x-rays, labs, and procedures
• Administer medications as directed and handle refills as needed
• Maintain clinic workflow and patient care documentation
