Job summary

UW Medical Center Northwest is seeking a part-time Medical Assistant - Certified for per diem shifts. Responsibilities include rooming patients, performing point-of-care testing, assisting with triage, and helping with procedures.

Shifts are mainly day and mid hours, with a shift differential and opportunities to support emergency department operations in Seattle. This role emphasizes compassionate patient care and teamwork.

Qualifications

• Completion of a Medical Assistant course accredited by CAAHEP/ABHES or equivalent.
• Must be WA Medical Assistant-Certified or achieve this designation within 6 months of hire.
• Valid American Heart Association BLS for Healthcare Provider CPR required.

Responsibilities

• Perform Point-of-Care testing, splinting, and wound care.
• Assist patients to exam room and document history, medications and vital signs.
• Prepare and clean exam rooms.
• Assist RN with triage process.
• Recognize symptoms of common illnesses and report to provider.
• Act as liaison between patient, family and providers.
• Assist provider with procedures and exams.
• Transport patients within hospital departments.

Education

Accredited Medical Assistant program (CAAHEP/ABHES) or equivalent

Washington State Medical Assistant-Certified or will obtain within 6 months
