Job summary

UW Medical Center-Montlake seeks a certified Medical Assistant (MA-C) for per diem day shifts in the Urology clinic. The role involves rooming patients, vital signs, injections, and supporting providers in exams and procedures.

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program (CAAHEP/ABHES or equivalent).
• Washington MA-Certified or eligible within 6 months of hire.
• Valid AHA BLS for Healthcare Provider CPR.

Responsibilities

• Room patients, take vital signs, and reconcile records.
• Perform injections.
• Prepare and clean exam rooms.
• Submit medication prior authorizations.
• Recognize symptoms of common medical illnesses and report to provider.
• Act as liaison between patient, family and providers.
• Assist provider with procedures and exams.
• Perform point-of-care testing and report abnormal labs.
• Assist in transporting patients as required.

Education

Medical Assistant certification program (CAAHEP/ABHES or equivalent)

Washington State MA-Certified or eligible within 6 months
