Job summary

Forks Hospital Foundation is hiring a Medical Assistant Certified to support health care providers under physician supervision. The role includes vital signs, patient prep, injections, EKGs, specimen collection, and charting.

Requires Six months to one year experience, MA-C eligibility, and MA certification within a set period. Per diem shifts cover 7:30am–6:00pm, Monday–Friday, with a 10% wage premium and EAP benefits.

Qualifications

• Six months to one year of related experience or training.
• Eligible for MA-C certification and must obtain MA certification.
• BLS certification to be obtained within six months of employment.

Responsibilities

• Interview patients and record vital signs and measurements.
• Assist physician by handing instruments and preparing exam rooms.
• Sterilize instruments and manage supply inventories.
• Perform routine diagnostic tests and coordinate test scheduling.

Job description

The Medical Assistant Certified performs those duties requested by the health care provider that are designated in RCW 18.360, Assists in examination and treatment of patients under the direction of Physician or Mid-Level Provider. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Interviews patients, measures vital signs, such as pulse rate, temperature, blood pressure, weight, and height, and records information on patients charts.
• Hands instruments and materials to doctor as directed.
• Cleans and sterilizes instruments.
• Inventories and orders medical supplies and materials.
• Operates electrocardiograph (EKG), and other equipment to administer routine diagnostic test or calls medical facility or department to schedule patients for tests.
• Prepare patient for examinations.
• Gives injections or treatments, and performs routine laboratory tests.
• Collect previous lab reports, x-rays, chart notes and old records.
• Keep contents of patient files up to date and keys data for patient records.
• Perform venous and capillary invasive procedures for blood withdrawal.
• Perform intradermal (including skin tests), subcutaneous and intramuscular injections for diagnostic agents as designated in RCW 18.360.05

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education: Six months to one-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. MA-C Certification: Must be eligible for Health Care Assistant Certification in State of Washington. Must obtain Medical Assistant Certification. Must obtain BLS within six months of employment.

Salary Range

MA-C: $24.56-$39.25

Shift:

Per Diem, shifts would be 7:30am-6:00pm M-F, Variable depending on availability of employee and need of employer
