Job summary

Mercy Health is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant to work with the Physician Practice at Belmont Gastroenterology in Youngstown. The CMA will assist the primary care physician, review health records, and prepare treatment areas to ensure smooth patient visits.

Responsibilities include taking vital signs, updating charts, and handling routine administrative tasks. A CMA certification is required within 12 months of start, with BLS preferred prior to providing independent patient care.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Active Medical Assisting certification required within 12 months of start date or ABR-OE acceptable in some states.
• BLS Basic Life Support is required (preferred before independent patient care).

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and provide excellent customer service.
• Review and update patient charts, verify tests and hospital reports.
• Measure vital signs and prepare treatment rooms for examinations.
• Perform clerical duties: inventory, referrals tracking, phones.
