Responsibilities

• Assist with examination and treatment of patients under the direction of a provider (Physician or Advanced Practice Provider).
• Assist with treatments ordered by the provider, supervised by the provider or registered nurse.
• Perform select clinical duties.
• Interview patients, measure vital signs, and record information on patients' charts.
• Prepare treatment rooms for patient examinations.
• Perform basic clerical duties, including answering phones, maintaining records, and filing.
• Manage materials, including ordering and stocking supplies.
• Help maintain a clean, organized environment.
• Document provider-patient encounters, including diagnoses, symptoms, follow-up instructions, and prescriptions.
• Transcribe patient orders for labs, radiology, and medications.

Requirements

• Licensure / Certification / Registration: BLS Provider certification within 1 month of hire, accepted from American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
• One or more of the following certifications obtained within 6 months of hire:
• Medical Assistant credential from the National Healthcareer Association, National Association for Health Professionals, NCCT, AAMA, or AMT. All accepted with the same 6-month window.
• Education: High School diploma or equivalency OR 1 year of applicable job-specific experience. Licenses or certifications can substitute for education/experience if applicable.
