Job summary

The Certified Medical Assistant I works under the Outpatient Clinic Manager and the supervision of a Registered Nurse to support a patient-centered care approach. You will assist physicians with examinations and treatments, take vital signs, and document information in the medical record.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma or equivalent, completion of an accredited medical assisting program, and certification as CCMA/CMA/NAHP/NCCT with current BLS.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of an accredited medical assisting program with one year of patient care experience preferred.
• Certification through AMT, AAMA, NAHP, or NCCT as CCMA, CMA, NAHP, or NCCT is required.
• Current BLS certification is required.

Responsibilities

• Interviews patients, measures vital signs (pulse, temperature, BP, weight, height), and records information in the medical record.
• Assists in examination and treatment under the direction of a physician.
• Prepares treatment rooms for examination of patients.
