The Certified Medical Assistant I reports to the Outpatient Clinic Manager at MUSC. Under the direction of a Registered Nurse, you will perform multi-skilled tasks to support patient-centered care and assist in examinations and treatments.

You will measure vital signs, interview patients, and prepare rooms for examinations, with a focus on accurate documentation and timely patient flow. An AMT/AAMA/NHA/NAHP/NCCT certified CMA with BLS is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Completion of an accredited medical assisting program preferred with 1 year patient care experience.
• Certification through AMT, AAMA, NHA, MedCA, NAHP or NCCT is required or encouraged.

Responsabilités

• Assists in examination and treatment under physician direction.
• Interviews patients, records vital signs and inputs data into medical records.
• Prepares treatment rooms for patient examinations.
• Supports a decentralized patient-centered approach to care.
