Job summary

UofL Health is seeking a dedicated Medical Assistant to support the medical team at JHHS - Med Center East. You will perform triage, take vitals, record patient history, and assist with injections while using the electronic health record.

Responsibilities include scheduling, reconciling medications, preparing exam rooms, and coordinating with physicians for procedures. A high school diploma or GED is required; a Medical Assisting degree or CMA/CCMA/RMA certification is preferred. BLS is required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED/Equivalent (required)
• Medical Assisting Certification (CMA/CCMA/RMA) preferred or required by role
• BLS certification required by role

Responsibilities

• Obtain medical history and triage patients; record vitals
• Reconcile medication list in the EHR
• Assist physician in exams; suture/staple removal, dressing changes
• Schedule tests, surgeries and hospital admissions
• Explain procedures to patients and families
• Maintain physician surgery schedules and triage calls
