Job summary

UofL Health, Inc. is seeking a Medical Assistant to support the clinical team in outpatient care. Responsibilities include patient triage, recording vitals, documenting history in the EHR, and assisting physicians with exams and minor procedures.

The role requires a High School Diploma or GED, CMA/CCMA/RMA certification, and BLS. One year of medical assisting experience is preferred, with a possibility to work with injections and scheduling responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Medical assisting degree is preferred.
• One year of medical assisting experience is preferred.
• Certification as CMA/CCMA/RMA is required.
• BLS certification is required.

Responsibilities

• Triage patients and record vitals for visits.
• Obtain patient history and document in EHR.
• Assist physician in exam room and minor procedures.
• Administer injections and reconcile medications in EHR.
• Schedule patients and collect paperwork, insurance info, and copays.
• Support scheduling of surgeries/tests and hospital admissions.
• Explain procedures to patients and families and maintain schedules.
