Job summary

Mercy Health in Ohio is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant for Oak Point Primary Care to work closely with the primary care physician in delivering high-quality patient care while updating health records and preparing treatment rooms for examinations.

The CMA will perform essential duties including greeting patients, chart review, vital signs, and relevant clerical tasks. Certification within 12 months is required, and BLS is required before independent patient care at Mercy Health locations.

Qualifications

• High School Degree or GED.
• Active Medical Assisting certification from one of the listed cert bodies within 12 months of start date.
• BLS certification required prior to independent patient care.
• 1 year of medical assistant healthcare experience preferred; 2 years clerical experience in a physician’s office preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides excellent customer service by greeting patients and the community in a respectful manner.
• Prepares & reviews patient charts for upcoming visits by verifying all diagnostic test results, hospital reports, and other medical records are correct and up to date.
• Measures vital signs such as pulse rate, respiration, blood pressure, weight and height.
• Performs departmental-related clerical duties such as checking inventory, stock supplies, track referrals, and answer phones as needed.
• Must possess the ability to troubleshoot and resolve problems promptly.
• Other duties as assigned
