Job summary

The Bon Secours Mercy Health Urbana Medical Office Building seeks a Certified Medical Assistant to support the primary care physician in delivering excellent patient care.

You will review health records, measure vital signs, prepare exam rooms, greet patients, and perform clerical duties to keep the workflow smooth, while adhering to state guidelines and medical assisting scope. F familiarity with HIPAA, strong communication, and teamwork are required; competitive benefits are offered.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• CMA certification or equivalent listed; ABR-OE acceptable if MA certification not available (not applicable in SC).
• One year of medical assistant experience preferred.
• Two years of clerical experience in a physician’s office preferred.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills; professional demeanor.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and the community in a respectful manner.
• Prepare and review patient charts for upcoming visits, verify diagnostic results and records.
• Measure vital signs: pulse, respiration, blood pressure, weight, height.
• Perform clerical duties: manage inventory, track referrals, answer phones.
• Troubleshoot and resolve problems promptly; other duties as assigned.
