Certified Medical Assistant (CMA or RMA)

The individual is responsible for assisting physicians, Advanced Practice Nurses, nurses, and Behavioral Health Consultants with delegated responsibilities.

This position requires travel between county offices.

Primary Duties And Responsibilities

1. Assist physician/nurse practitioner with clinic duties, including:

• Phone calls
• Medication education materials
• Managing the referral process

Enter vital signs and clinical data in patient records, ensuring accuracy and completeness.

Prepare patient charts and information for medical appointments.

Track and coordinate patient care data, such as medication assistance and sample medications.

Complete prior authorizations for medications and referrals.

Attend continuing education and training courses for ongoing certification.

Review outpatient medication storage and administration locations for pharmacy review requirements.

Requirements

• CMA or RMA certification is required.
• Must be 21 years of age or older.
• Valid driver's license is required.
• Extensive pre-employment background checks are required due to working with a vulnerable population.
• All team members must receive a flu shot and TB test, with exemption options available but not guaranteed.
