Job summary

UT Health Athens is seeking a day shift, full-time Gastroenterology Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) in Athens, TX. The role supports both clinical and administrative duties in a clinic-based setting under the guidance of a physician or advanced practice provider.

Requirements include a High School diploma or GED, accredited CMA program, CMA or RMA certification, EMR and MS Office knowledge, and BLS within 14 days of hire. Preferred: associate degree and prior clinic/hospital experience.

Qualifications

Job Requirements:

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Graduate of an accredited medical assistant/medical technologist school/program.
• Current national certification as a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA).
• Basic Electronic Medical Record (EMR) and Microsoft Office knowledge.
• BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care.

Preferred Job Requirements:

• Associate’s degree.
• Prior experience in a clinic or hospital setting supporting patient care.
