Key responsibilities include preparing patients, collecting vital signs and medical information, assisting during examinations and procedures, performing technical duties such as EKGs, phlebotomy, wound care, and medication administration (excluding IVs). The position also entails completing laboratory specimens, documenting accurately in electronic medical records, and supporting clinic operations through administrative tasks like scheduling, billing, and patient communication.
Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) from recognized associations is required. A high school diploma or GED is necessary, with additional specialty training preferred.
Excellent communication, attention to detail, ability to follow protocols, infection control practices, and teamwork. The role emphasizes patient safety, quality improvement, and supporting a positive patient experience.
Inventory management, sterilization, assisting with new staff orientation, and participating in safety and quality programs.
