Job summary

LiveWell Homecare Agency is seeking a certified Medical Assistant to provide direct patient care in an outpatient setting under provider supervision. You will work closely with physicians and healthcare teams to support visits, minor procedures, and clinical workflows.

The role emphasizes accurate documentation in EMR, phlebotomy, patient education, and adherence to infection control and safety protocols. Travel may be required with mileage reimbursement and additional hourly compensation.

Qualifications

  • Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) required, certified by recognized bodies.
  • High school diploma or GED required; specialty training preferred.
  • Strong clinical skills, attention to detail, and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Ability to perform phlebotomy, support minor procedures, and handle administrative tasks efficiently.

Responsibilities

  • Obtain and document patient information, vital signs, and visit screening in EMR.
  • Prepare examination and treatment rooms, assist patients with visits, and support minor procedures like EKGs and wound dressings.
  • Administer medications and perform tests and treatments per provider orders.
  • Collect laboratory specimens, perform phlebotomy, and support laboratory functions.
  • Manage scheduling, filing reports, follow-ups, billing inquiries, and referrals.
  • Document in medical records and reinforce provider-directed patient education.
  • Maintain infection control protocols, sterilize instruments, and inspect diagnostic equipment.
  • Participate in patient safety and quality improvement initiatives.
