Sentara Hospitals in Virginia Beach, VA is seeking a Full-Time Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) to join the Sentara Internal Medicine Physicians team. You’ll support providers, deliver hands-on patient care, assist with procedures, and help ensure a smooth, positive patient experience.

The role offers up to a $5,000 sign-on bonus for qualified candidates and a daytime first shift, Monday to Friday, 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM, with comprehensive benefits and recruitment incentives.

Qualifications

• High School Graduate or Equivalent is required.
• Current, unexpired Medical Assistant certification (CMA, RMA, CCMA, NCMA, NRCMA, CMAC, or equivalent) or EMT-Basic certification from an accredited organization.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 90 days of hire.
• Less than a year of related experience is required.
• One year of clinical experience, preferably in specialty physician practice or primary care.

Overview

The Certified Medical Assistant performs patient care and administrative/clerical related tasks and procedures based on training, education, and competency evaluations, and as delegated by and under the direction/supervision of the Physician, Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant (NP/PA), Registered Nurse (RN), or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN).

Experience

• Less than a year of related experience is required
• One (1) year of clinical experience, preferably in specialty physician practice or primary care

Education

• High School Graduate or Equivalent is required

Certification/Licensure

We provide market-competitive compensation packages, inclusive of base pay, incentives, and benefits. The base pay range for full-time employment is $21.69 - $32.14 hourly. Additional compensation may be available for this role, such as shift differentials, on-call pay, overtime, shift premiums, extra-shift incentives, or bonus opportunities. Compensation within the range may vary based on qualifications, experience, location, market conditions, and business needs.
