Job summary

Sentara Internal Medicine Physicians - 1080 First Colonial clinic in Virginia Beach, VA is seeking a Full-Time Certified Medical Assistant to join our team. You will support providers, deliver hands-on patient care, assist with procedures, and help create a positive patient experience.

A sign-on bonus of up to $5,000 is available for qualified candidates. Clinic hours are Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM (Day Shift).

Qualifications

• High School Graduate or Equivalent is required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 90 days of hire.
• Current, unexpired CMA/CCMA/RMA/NCMA/EMT-Basic certification or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• The Certified Medical Assistant performs patient care and administrative/clerical tasks under the direction of the physician, NP/PA, RN, or LPN.
• Support providers, assist with clinical procedures, and contribute to a positive patient experience.

Overview

Sentara Internal Medicine Physicians - 1080 First Colonial clinic is seeking a Full-Time Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) to join our exceptional team in Virginia Beach, VA. Clinic Hours

Monday through Friday | 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM | Day Shift

Responsibilities

The Certified Medical Assistant performs patient care and administrative/clerical related tasks and procedures based on training, education, and competency evaluations, and as delegated by and under the direction/supervision of the Physician, Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant (NP/PA), Registered Nurse (RN), or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN).

Experience

• Less than a year of related experience is required
• One (1) year of clinical experience, preferably in Endocrinology, specialty physician practice or primary care is preferred

Education

• High School Graduate or Equivalent is required

Certification/Licensure

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 90 days of hire
• Current, unexpired Medical Assistant certification (CMA, RMA, CCMA, NCMA, NRCMA, CMAC, or equivalent) or EMT-Basic certification from an accredited organization

Compensation

We provide market-competitive compensation packages, inclusive of base pay, incentives, and benefits. The base pay range for full-time employment is $21.69 - $32.14 hourly. Additional compensation may be available for this role, such as shift differentials, on-call pay, overtime, shift premiums, extra-shift incentives, or bonus opportunities. Compensation within the range may vary based on qualifications, experience, location, market conditions, and business needs.
