Job summary

Matrix Providers is hiring a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) to join our team serving military service members and their families in Oceanside, CA. This full-time role offers a schedule Monday through Friday between 6:00 am and 6:00 pm with 8.5, 9, or 10.5-hour shifts, including an uncompensated meal break.

Compensation is hourly from $18.92 to $25.51 plus Health & Wellness benefits of $4.57/hr, plus a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Certificate from a CMA training program.
• Graduate from CMA program accredited by CMAHEP/ABHES and listed programs.
• Current CMA certification or registration with AMT or equivalent bodies.
• Minimum six months of MA experience after graduation.

Responsibilities

• Prepare examination rooms prior to patient arrival.
• Assist with patient check-ins, admissions, discharges, and transfers.
• Check vital signs: temp, respiration, pulse, BP, weight, SpO2.
• Record medical history, drug history, allergies and vitals.
• Perform diagnostic procedures when ordered.
• Maintain examination rooms and stock levels.
• Complete lab and x-ray requisitions per clinic policy.
• Enter demographics and diagnoses into the system.

• Employment Status: Full-time
• Compensation: This is an hourly position from $18.92 to $25.51/hr + H&W $.4.57/hr
• Schedule: Monday thru Friday, between 6:00 am - 6:00 pm for an 8.5, 9, or 10.5-hour shift which includes an uncompensated 30-minute or one-hour meal break, depending on the length of the shift.

Requirements: The Certified Medical Assistant (CMA)must have and meet the following:

• Degree: Certificate
• Education: Graduate from a medical assistant training program accredited by Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) or the Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools (ABHES) of the American Medical Graduate from a medical assistant training program accredited by the following programs: Accrediting Commission of Career Schools and Colleges (ACCSC); Accrediting Council for Independent Colleges and Schools (ACICS); Accrediting Council for Continuing Education and Training (ACCET); and Accrediting Commission for Community and Junior College (ACCJC).Graduate from a medical assistant training program accredited by the following programs: Accrediting Commission of Career Schools and Colleges (ACCSC); Accrediting Council for Independent Colleges and Schools (ACICS); Accrediting Council for Continuing Education and Training (ACCET); and Accrediting Commission for Community and Junior College (ACCJC).
• Certification: Certified Medical Assistant Only: Current certification as a medical assistant by the American Association of Medical Assistants or Current registration by the American Medical Technologists or other formal programs.
• Experience: Possess a minimum of six months of experience as a Medical Assistant after graduation.

Job Summary:

• Prepare examination rooms prior to the patient's arrival.
• Assist with patient check-ins, admissions, discharges, and transfers as directed.
• Check the patient's vital signs, including temperature, respiration, pulse, weight, blood pressure, and pulse oximeter reading.
• Obtain and document the patient's current medical history, drug history, chief complaints, allergies, and vital signs on the correct form.
• Perform diagnostic procedures when ordered.
• Maintain examination room stock levels and perform routine maintenance of examination rooms.
• Complete lab and x-ray requisitions in accordance with clinic policies.
• Enter demographic data into the computer upon patient check-in; enter diagnosis and departing time when the patient is released.
