Matrix Providers Inc. is hiring a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) to join a team serving Military Service Members and their families in Oceanside, CA.

This full-time role offers an hourly compensation range with additional H&W, and a schedule of 6:00 am to 6:00 pm, Monday through Friday. Responsibilities include room preparation, patient check-ins, vital signs, medical history documentation, and processing lab/x-ray requests, with benefits including health, dental, vision, life, PTO, paid

Qualifications

• Certificate from a medical assistant program.
• Graduation from a CMA program accredited by CAAHEP or ABHES.
• Current CMA certification by AAMA or AMT registration or equivalent.
• Six months of Medical Assistant experience after graduation.

Responsibilities

• Prepare examination rooms before patient arrival.
• Assist with patient check-ins, admissions, discharges, and transfers.
• Check vital signs including temperature, respiration, pulse, and blood pressure.
• Document patient medical history, allergies and vitals.
• Perform diagnostic procedures when ordered.
• Maintain exam room stock and perform routine maintenance.
• Complete lab and x-ray requisitions per clinic policies.

• Employment Status: Full-time
• Compensation: This is an hourly position from $18.92 to $25.51/hr + H&W $.4.57/hr
• Schedule: Monday thru Friday, between 6:0 am - 6:00 pm for an 8.5, 9, or 10.5-hour shift which includes an uncompensated 30-minute or one-hour meal break, depending on the length of the shift.

Requirements: The Certified Medical Assistant (CMA)must have and meet the following:

• Degree: Certificate
• Education: Graduate from a medical assistant training program accredited by Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) or the Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools (ABHES) of the American Medical Graduate from a medical assistant training program accredited by the following programs: Accrediting Commission of Career Schools and Colleges (ACCSC); Accrediting Council for Independent Colleges and Schools (ACICS); Accrediting Council for Continuing Education and Training (ACCET); and Accrediting Commission for Community and Junior College (ACCJC).Graduate from a medical assistant training program accredited by the following
  programs: Accrediting Commission of Career Schools and Colleges (ACCSC); Accrediting Council for Independent Colleges and Schools (ACICS); Accrediting Council for Continuing Education and Training (ACCET); and Accrediting Commission for Community and Junior College (ACCJC).
• Certification: Certified Medical Assistant Only: Current certification as a medical assistant by the American Association of Medical Assistants or Current registration by the American Medical Technologists or other formal programs.
• Experience: Possess a minimum of six months of experience as a Medical Assistant after graduation.

Job Summary:

• Prepare examination rooms prior to the patient's arrival.
• Assist with patient check-ins, admissions, discharges, and transfers as directed.
• Check the patient's vital signs, including temperature, respiration, pulse, weight, blood pressure, and pulse oximeter reading.
• Obtain and document the patient's current medical history, drug history, chief complaints, allergies, and vital signs on the correct form.
• Perform diagnostic procedures when ordered.
• Maintain examination room stock levels and perform routine maintenance of examination rooms.
• Complete lab and x-ray requisitions in accordance with clinic policies.
• Enter demographic data into the computer upon patient check-in; enter diagnosis and departing time when the patient is released.
