Job summary

UAB Medicine is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) to join our interdisciplinary outpatient care teams. You will support physicians, nurses, and other staff by organizing patient records, preparing patients for exams, and performing basic lab tasks in a fast-paced environment.

Ideal candidates hold CMA/CCMA credentials (or be willing to obtain them within six months), have a High School diploma or GED, CPR certification, and a compassionate approach to patient care.

Qualifications

• Must have a CMA/CCMA certification or be willing to obtain one within six months.
• CPR certification required or obtainable within 30 days of employment.
• High School diploma or GED required.

Responsibilities

• Organize and maintain patient records and provide clinical nursing support.
• Prepare patients for exams and perform basic lab tests.
• Assist physicians and nurses as part of the care team.
